Senator Lummis & Scott Besent Meet to Discuss Strategic Bitcoin Reserve
In the latest development, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis and Donald Trump’s incoming Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met to discuss a potential U.S. Bitcoin strategy reserve. Lummis calls Bessent “a champion of digital assets and a key ally in the adoption of the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. Lummis debuted the Bitcoin Bill of 2024, proposing that the country establish a reserve of the leading cryptocurrency. Its presence will strengthen the U.S. dollar and ensure that it remains is a global cryptocurrency powerhouse. The bill ultimately proposes that the United States purchase 1 million Bitcoins by 2030 and hold the asset for at least 20 years.
