The meeting comes just days before the incoming president takes office and marks a major development for XRP. With Ripple’s continued progress and high-profile conferences, including discussions with influential leaders like Donald Trump, the future of XRP looks promising. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong also met with Trump, suggesting that XRP is not the only crypto project developing strategic ties.
The cryptocurrency market is poised for further growth
In a previous Fox Business interview, Garlinghouse shared his views on a positive direction for the cryptocurrency market, especially following the election. He spoke of the U.S. government’s changing attitude toward cryptocurrencies, saying the industry has faced pressure from regulators for years, particularly from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
However, he believes that with the incoming president’s approach and a more open-minded Congress, the cryptocurrency market is now poised for growth. He noted that U.S. crypto assets, including XRP, surged in response to the change as pressure from regulators eased.
Garlinghouse also criticized the SEC’s actions, noting that Ripple has spent more than $150 million fighting the SEC’s case, which he called an illegal “war” against cryptocurrencies. He expressed hope that other states that have sued the SEC for overstepping its authority will also join the fight against what he sees as inappropriate regulation.
