Binance’s CZ Praises Bhutan’s Crypto Reserve Move
In a recent development, Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao expressed support for Bhutan’s bold decision to include cryptocurrencies in its strategic reserves. Recently, the Gelepu Mindfulness City (GMC) in the Special Administrative Region of Bhutan added Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance Coin (BNB) to its strategic reserves. In a statement, GMC noted that it will only invest in assets issued on a secure blockchain where on-chain transactions can be monitored. For its strategic reserve, GMC plans to only include digital assets with larger market capitalization and higher liquidity. CZ praised Bhutan’s liberal approach to cryptocurrencies, highlighting the country’s openness to blockchain technology. He pointed out that this is a strategic move for the country to attract cryptocurrency companies, investment and innovation.
