Illinois Joins Growing List of States Proposing Bitcoin Reserve
Illinois has become the latest state that proposes to Bitcoin reserve, and has added more and more states to promote similar bills. The state representative John Cabello proposed the 1844 House of Representatives (HB1844), which will establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve fund in the Ministry of Finance. If you pass, the Treasury of Illinois will manage the fund, and all bitcoin deposits will hold at least five years. Until the state can be transferred, sell or convert any bitcoin into other cryptocurrencies. Since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, the number of state -level Bitcoin reserves has continued to increase, and at least six states have introduced or promoted similar bills in January alone.
