Bybit CEO Refuses to List Controversial PI Token After OKX Announcement
After OKX announced that it would list the controversial PI token (related to the issue with China’s pyramid plan), Bybit CEO refused to list it. Meanwhile, BITGET deleted information about the token after its initial announcement.
Bybit CEO Ben Zhou rejected the idea of joining the Picoreteam network in an X post and said, “I will keep my distance.”

He shared that he was recently asked to join the “PI” but rejected the idea, calling it ridiculous. He also shared that during trading forex, he often deals with people who request a refund or return. He shared: “I really don’t want to be part of the cryptocurrency world…stay away from it.”
The mainnet of PI network will be launched at 8:00 UTC on February 20, 2025, transitioning to the so-called “Open Network Period of Mainnet”.
However, users expressed concerns about possible transaction risks. A user Express Surprised by the list, which suggests that this may indicate a shift to a more focused model. He described the PI network as a “zero cost mining project” where users can mine cryptocurrencies on their phones with minimal barriers. Users also raised concerns about the recommendation system of the PI network, suggesting that it may be similar to a pyramid scheme.
However, the protocol states that the goal of PI is a secure Web3 space where pioneers can contact the PI it holds. However, X users claim that Chinese traders are struggling with KYC verification due to limited slot or system issues, and even if they start now, they may not promptly approve to apply for a token list.
