Caroline Ellison’s Prison Term Reduced Amid FTX Fallout
Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison is set to be released from prison on July 20, 2026, much earlier than her original two-year sentence for her role in the FTX debacle. Ellison’s reduced sentence may have been due to sentencing points, although this has not been confirmed. She played a key role as the prosecution’s star witness against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who is serving a 25-year prison sentence. Meanwhile, other FTX colleagues Gary Wang and Nishad Singh escaped jail with hefty fines, while former FTX Digital Markets CEO Ryan Salame was sentenced to seven years in prison for campaign finance violations.
