BlackRock’s 2025 Global Outlook highlights Bitcoin’s potential as a new diversified asset due to its fixed supply and growing demand as a payments technology. The report points out that in a new market environment where the correlation between stock and bond returns is unstable and government bonds act as a buffer against stock sell-offs, traditional assets such as gold and emerging assets such as Bitcoin are expected to bridge the gap. It also noted that the post-election surge in cryptocurrency adoption was due to an increased likelihood of investor adoption due to President-elect Trump’s past support for cryptocurrencies.
