In this insightful interview with Luka, Head of Sales at Lunar Strategy, David explains the transformative work Privasea is doing to balance privacy, Safetyand accessibility in the Web3 ecosystem.
What does “distrustful human beings” mean to you? How does Privasea aim to achieve this in the fight against bots?
Building trustless solutions to combat bots is one of our main goals and a core part of our product. We are building a human proof ecosystem that enables ecosystem partners to easily verify that an address or user account belongs to a real person.
This proof of humanity is accessible on-chain or off-chain via our API or ABI, allowing partners to easily integrate. They can check our smart contract to confirm if the user is a trustworthy person.
The purpose of this is to combat scams and bot farms in Web3. This isn’t anti-human farming, though – human farming is different because real people are involved in the project and it’s beneficial. They spend their time and contribute, which is healthy for the ecosystem.
Our goal is scripts or automated bots that farm tokens. We want projects that reward real humans, not these robots.
Why are bots becoming an increasing challenge in the Web3 ecosystem as artificial intelligence advances? How does Privasea solve this problem while ensuring user privacy through biometric verification?
Currently, with the rise of large language models and advanced artificial intelligence agents, it is easier for bots to imitate humans and even generate human voices to spread toxic content or deceive people. This is a huge challenge.
To effectively eliminate bots in the AI era, reliable verification methods are needed. One of the most effective and secure methods we have seen is through biometric data, which we have adopted at Privasea as a proof-of-humanity solution.
We want users to use biometric data to authenticate themselves without compromising privacy. We don’t want them to have to share their biometric data just to earn some tokens. Our goal is to allow users to retain control of their biometric data, self-custody, and still be able to securely authenticate themselves in Web3 without privacy concerns.
How does Privasea balance security and a trustless environment, especially when it comes to fighting bots?
First, we do this by having users register and maintain a soul bound Token(SBT) in our application. This unique badge can be linked to their social profiles or wallet address, making their “proof of humanity” visible on the blockchain. It is similar to the Web3 Domain Name Alliance, for example Vitalik’s .eth address represents his wallet.
When users enter their wallet address, they will see a badge confirming their identity. Everything is on chain, easy to check, and we think it will be welcomed by the market as this is currently lacking.
Can you share some details about the mainnet launch and the key features users can expect?
We will launch the testnet beta version in December. node Holders will be able to pre-mine in our network by providing proof of readiness, and we are inviting FHE dedicated accelerators to join and provide computing power to boost FHE machine learning in our network.
The mainnet is planned to be launched in the first quarter of next year (i.e. 2025). On mainnet, we will support more machine learning models through the FHE pipeline, allowing developers to simply pay a fee to optimize the entire pipeline in our network gas cost.
Can you tell us more about the upcoming TGE and its potential impact on the ecosystem?
I can’t confirm the exact date of TGE, but I can say it will significantly strengthen the ecosystem. Once that happens, these tokens can be used in the network for basic utilities, such as gas fees, supporting the FHE machine learning network. Miners who provide computing power will be rewarded with tokens, and the utility tokens of the ecosystem will incentivize the supply side and application side.
TGE will also provide incentives for early users. We already have around 300,000 users registered in our app who will receive a large portion of these rewards.
In fact, we dedicated 10% of our token allocation to airdrop As a reward for supporting us since our launch in June, available to app users during the first year Solana. We are now expanding to Solana and Decidethese early backers were instrumental in helping us test the application. What’s more, we reward real humans, not robots.
