Cardano’s Hoskinson Snubbed for White House Crypto Summit, Ripple CEO on the List
Expectations in the crypto world are growing ahead of the White House crypto summit on Friday, March 7, 2025. This first event is expected to play a crucial role in the future of U.S. crypto policy, which could launch a strategic U.S. crypto protection zone. Several key figures in the industry are expected, including members of former President Donald Trump’s Crypto Task Force.
But as the guest list begins to take shape, a notable name is missing: Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson. According to Unchained, White House sources confirmed that Hoskinson was not invited to the summit and Cardano was not involved in any policy discussions or meetings with the administration.
“They ran around town, trying to push their narrative. They were not involved in anything that tried to influence policy, nor were they invited to Friday’s summit,” White House source told Unchained.
Hoskinson’s absence is particularly surprising given President Trump’s recent comments. On Sunday, Trump mentioned that Cardano’s ADA would be part of the crypto protection zone, which made many expect Hoskinson to attend the event.
Confirm guests to attend the summit
Although Hoskinson ruled out Hoskinson, several high-profile crypto industry leaders were still present. The confirmed guest list includes:
- Brad Garlinghouse – Ripple CEO
- Michael Sealer – The Founder of Microscope
- David Bailey – CEO of Bitcoin Magazine
- Matt Yellow – Co-founder of Paradigm
- JP Richardson – CEO of Exodus
- Kyle Samani – Managing Partner of Multicoin Capital
- Zach Witkoff – Co-founder of World Free Finance
- Sergey Nazarov – Co-founder of Chain Links
- Brian Armstrong – Coinbase CEO
- Vlad Tenev – Robini CEO
- Arjun Sethi – CEO of Kraken
- Kris Marszalek – CEO of crypto.com
Hoskinson had previously hinted that he might attend a fundraising dinner at Pro-Crypto Pac Maga Inc., but the White House confirmed that he was not invited to the event either.
Key points of the summit
The summit is scheduled to be held on March 7 from 1:30 to 5:00 pm ET and is led by AI and Crypto Czar appointed by President Trump. One of the key points of the discussion is dealing with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said in a recent interview that Bitcoin is treated differently from other alternatives because it is an important part of President Trump’s crypto strategy.
