How to Buy Donald Trump’s $TRUMP Memecoin?
As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, his social media accounts are abuzz with an unexpected announcement – a new cryptocurrency called “$TRUMP.” The unusual posts raised suspicion among social media users, with some wondering whether the accounts had been hacked.
This is the story behind the coin.
Launch of $TRUMP Meme Coin
Trump’s official (formerly Twitter) and Truth Social accounts shared news of the Solana-based meme coin $TRUMP.
“My new official Trump meme is here! It’s time to celebrate everything we stand for: winning! Join my very special Trump community. Get your Trump now,” the post reads Road, and link to a website.
Within hours, $TRUMP’s market cap soared to nearly $7.5 trillion. Trading volume approached $1 billion, and the token’s value soared more than 300%, jumping from $0.18 to $7.1.
The total number of issued coins is 1 billion, of which 200 million will be gradually issued over the next three years.
How to Buy $Trump
To purchase $TRUMP, users need to use a Solana-based exchange (such as Jupiter) and a non-custodial wallet (such as Phantom). The contract address for this token can be found on CoinMarketCap and SolScan. Verifying addresses is crucial because counterfeit coins are already in circulation. Purchases can be made using SOL or other SOL compatible tokens.
When purchasing $TRUMP, users also gain access to the Trump Meme community, which promotes success and optimism.
Is $TRUMP legal? Expert participation
Blockchain engineer Cygaar said the new meme coin was likely created by the same team behind Trump’s previous NFT project, as the sites have some technical similarities. Additionally, Jupiter Core Working Group member Slorg confirmed that $TRUMP has been verified and listed on the Jupiter Exchange.
$The story behind Trump
According to the Trump Meme website, the coin’s assets are minted via the Solana blockchain. Featuring a meme of President Trump raising his fist and signing his name, the website labeled the coin “a piece of history.” The description adds a personal touch to the meme by emphasizing that on July 13, 2024, President Trump “faced death and rose up to fight.”
The website also states that the coin is apolitical and not affiliated with any political movement or office. Still, Trump and his family have been promoting a variety of products during the 2024 campaign and as the inauguration approaches. They include a holy book, a “Trump Guitar” Les Paul-style guitar, gold Trump sneakers, Assassination Attempt cologne and a $100,000 watch.
Trump’s Growing Cryptocurrency Influence
In September, Trump announced that he and his family were launching a cryptocurrency business called World Liberty Financial. Despite the attention $TRUMP is attracting, its long-term value and potential remain uncertain.
Will Trump stay? We’ll have to wait and see.
