Litecoin ETF Likely to Come Before XRP, Top ETF Expert Predicts
Eric Balchunas, a leading ETF analyst, said that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may approve a Litecoin ETF first and then XRP. While the SEC is expected to move in a more crypto-friendly direction next year and nominate Paul Atkins to replace Gary Gensler, Balchunas noted that XRP’s complex legal issues could delay approval of its ETF. Meanwhile, Litecoin (LTC) and Hedera (HBAR) have never been labeled as securities by the SEC, which may make their approval smoother. While the SEC may be more open to crypto products, investor demand for recently filed ETF products remains uncertain. Balchunas emphasized that Litecoin’s path to becoming a spot ETF looks clearer than XRP.
