Ripple Mints 10.5 Million RLUSD Tokens as Launch Nears
Ripple Labs has taken another big step in preparing to launch its RLUSD stablecoin by minting 10.5 million tokens on the mainnet. The move is part of a series of tests designed to ensure the stablecoin meets real-world demand before going live. The testing process included casting, burning and transferring the RLUSD to evaluate its performance. It is worth noting that the minting cost of the latest batch of RLUSD is only 0.000135 XRP, reflecting the low-cost efficiency of the Ripple ledger. Earlier this month, Ripple minted more than 441,000 RLUSD tokens in just one hour. While the exact launch date is still unknown, excitement is growing as Ripple gets closer to introducing RLUSD to the stablecoin market.
