RLUSD Stablecoin Approved, Is XRP Meme Coin Listing Next?
Ripple is excited about RLUSD’s success as they recently received NYDS approval, which is a big step forward. This approval brings high regulatory standards to RLUSD, and the transparency provided by the audit will appeal to users.
Experts believe that stablecoins will play a key role in cross-border payments and solve many problems with traditional payment methods. Stablecoins are fast, available 24/7, borderless and transparent, making them a strong choice for the future of payments.
XRP Meme Token: Coming Soon?
XRP, on the other hand, is starting to see an increase in activity from meme tokens, raising questions about whether these tokens might eventually be listed on the platform. Nancy Beaton, president of Uphold US, confirmed that Uphold has listed multiple meme tokens.
Speaking on the Paul Barron Network, she explained that Uphold has a complete token listing process. They actively search for tokens on the market, and people can also submit their tokens for review. However, only about 30% of the tokens they reviewed were approved for listing. Beaton also encourages Meme token creators to contact Uphold so they can begin the due diligence process and potentially offer their tokens to Uphold customers.
XRP’s higher token issuance costs could reduce scams
One X user pointed out Pointing out that it costs 123 XRP to create a meme coin on XRP, and as the price of XRP increases, issuing tokens will become more expensive. For example, if XRP reaches $10, it will cost $1,230 to create the token. The increase in costs could reduce the number of scams and promote more legitimate projects.
In comparison, it is much cheaper to issue tokens on Solana, which has led to the emergence of many low-quality and scam tokens. Users believe that while there may still be some bad projects on XRP, the higher costs may reduce scams and help build a more trustworthy market.
