Trump Fails to Pardon Ross Ulbricht on Day 1, Speculation Grows
President Donald Trump has failed to fulfill his campaign promise to pardon Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, a darknet market that was shut down in 2013.
During his re-election campaign, Trump promised that he would “commute Ross Ulbricht’s sentence” on Day One if re-elected.

The FBI shut down the Silk Road market back in 2013 and confiscated 69,370 Bitcoins. These tokens are currently worth over $6 billion. Some have suggested that Trump might use this large sum of Bitcoin to fund the national Bitcoin reserve.
